Lucy's Story

Meet sweet Lucy. (Lucy needs to be the only pet)

This petite lady was originally adopted from us almost 6 years ago and finds herself back with us due to no fault of her own. Lucy's family had some unforeseen life changes that made keeping her a challenge - so Lucy came back to us in hopes of finding a perfect match.

Lucy is some sort of terrier mix, but her exact breed makeup is unknown. She is entering her senior years and is just over 8 years old. She is a little chunky at the moment, but even at her "chunky weight" she is still only 31 pounds. Upon entering her senior years, Lucy experienced an increase in anxiety during the evening which is managed with an anxiety medication. Lucy would love a quieter home where she can relax with her people. Young/rambunctious kids can be too much for her, so an adult only home or a home with older kids. Unfortunately Lucy does not enjoy the company of other animals and she will need to be the only pet in the home.

If you think you have a home suited for Lucy, apply online today! IMPORTANT UPDATE Although our shelter is open to potential adopters during the viewing hours listed on this page, Paws and Claws prefers to schedule viewings and adoptions by appointment. To make an appointment to meet and adopt one of the companion animals on our Website, we ask that you fill out an online application. Potential adopters can either click on the ADOPTION APPLICATION link on the right side of this page, or visit our Website at pawsandclaws.org and go to the "Willing to Adopt a Pet" section, then select the orange "Adoption Form" box. This will allow you to access the Adoption Guidelines and Application Form. After reading the Adoption Guidelines, either complete the online adoption form and return it to us, or print the Adoption Form, fill in the required information, sign it, and email it back to us via info@pawsandclaws.org. You may list up to four animals that you would like to meet. We review the emails every day. We will process all applications in the order that they are received and then once your application has been approved, we will contact you and set up an appointment for you to meet the animal(s) and if possible, do the adoption on the same day you come in.
