Lucy 's Story

Lucy is a sweet but shy German Shorthaired Pointer who is ready to discover what a loving home truly feels like. Rescued from a puppy mill, this petite “pocket pointer” is estimated to be 4–5 years old and weighs a perfect 43 lbs.

✨ Why Lucy is so special:

Fully housebroken and crate trained

Exceptional on a leash — calm, polite, and easy to walk

Sleeps through the night without a peep

Quiet and non–dog reactive

Curious but gentle with distractions (squirrels get a stare, then she happily moves along)

Lucy may be reserved at first, but once she trusts you, her affection blooms beautifully. Expect sweet kisses, enthusiastic tail wags, and maybe even a happy little skip—or a gentle “love nibble” when she’s especially excited. Her favorite pastime? Curling up into the tiniest ball or relaxing in her crate, gazing lovingly at her person as they go about their day.

🏡 Her ideal home:
Lucy would thrive in a quiet, patient household. She may do wonderfully with a gentle, confident dog sibling who can show her that the world is safe and full of good things. She has great manners and has been trained to stay off furniture—but let’s be honest… if invited onto the couch, she’d happily snuggle up with you for a cozy rom-com night.

🐶 Cat note:
Her cat-friendliness is still unknown. She’s curious about an outdoor feral cat in her foster home but respectful.

Lucy is a tender soul who just needs time, kindness, and love. In return, she’ll give you quiet companionship, unwavering loyalty, and a heart full of gratitude.

If you are interested in meeting Lucy and already approved for adoption with our program, please email us and we will put you in touch with her foster Mom: gsprescuenj@gmail.com.

If you are not approved, please complete an adoption application on our website: www.gsprescuenj.com.
