Lucy's Story

Hi, I’m Lucy. I’ve been at my foster home for a few weeks now, which has been great. I’m about a year and half old, I’m spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and I’m being fostered in Kirkland, WA.

I’m a flashy, fawn Boxer with beautiful markings and a terrific personality, if I do say so myself. My foster mama says I’m the perfect combination of Sweet, Saucy, Spicy, and Happy! She also says my fur feels like velvet, whatever that is. I have a full tail, which I use to show my affection and excitement!

In my foster home I’ve been learning a few new skills and reinforcing a few I came in with. I get a ton of daily exercise, have a big box of toys to play with, and love to snuggle to recharge. I’m learning to enjoy my crate, inside the home and in the car, and honing my leash skills. I can be very enthusiastic, so best that there are no young kids around in my forever home. I have had fun meeting older, dog savvy, kids though. I do show a bit of the Boxer prey drive, but I redirect pretty well. I am dog friendly, and even though I don’t have one around right now, I could enjoy a dog companion with equal energy. Be forewarned, though, I’d probably be the boss! I’m not sure about cats, although they might be fun to chase and torment.

I’ve enjoyed local hikes and jump right into the car for any errands and adventures with my foster family; and also find time for a nap or two in a warm cozy dog bed, or in the sun. I’m quick to respond to commands and my foster family thinks I might be a great candidate for agility training, cause I’m so smart and learn quick. Oh, I do like to chat a bit and tell you what’s going on in my smart little brain. I’ve been told I’m a Diamond in the Rough, and all I need is a skilled Jeweler in my forever family, to really make me shine.

Also, I’m getting used to having my foster family around me more than away, so a work from home parent, or an active retired family, would be on my wish/love list!

If you feel like I’m the gal you’ve been waiting for, please fill out an application – www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/adopt. I’m ready to meet you, so come scoop me up!
