At just 2–3 years old, Lucky has already experienced more hardship than any dog should. He spent much of his life tied to a front porch in Louisiana, neglected and without consistent access to basic necessities. At one point, he was even listed for sale on Facebook. Thankfully, those days are behind him, and this sweet boy is finally getting the fresh start he deserves!<br/><br/>Lucky is a big boy with a big personality and plenty of energy! And honestly, who could blame him after spending so much of his life tied up? He’s affectionate, intelligent, curious, and eager to experience everything the world has to offer. He would make a wonderful companion for an active, dog-savvy family who enjoys walks, playtime, and adventures.<br/><br/>Because Lucky missed out on so much during his early years, he’s still learning some of the basics of living in a home. He can become jumpy and mouthy when overstimulated, so he’ll need a patient family committed to structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement training. He’s already learning to sit, sleeps well in his crate, and is beginning to discover just how wonderful it feels to relax on a soft bed. Every day brings a little more progress!<br/><br/>Lucky is dog-friendly, has lived with dogs in his foster home, and generally ignores other dogs on walks. He could enjoy having a canine companion with the right match, but would also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as an only dog. Because of his size and enthusiasm, a home with older children would be the best fit. What Lucky needs most is someone who understands that he’s still figuring things out. After spending so much of his life confined to a rope, he’s finally learning what it means to be loved, to feel safe, and to simply be a dog.<br/><br/>There’s so much potential in this handsome boy, and it’s already starting to shine through. With a little patience, guidance, and a whole lot of love, Lucky has everything he needs to become a wonderful companion.<br/><br/>Could you be the lucky one to give him the life he’s always deserved? ❤ï ̧<br/><br/>Lucky is up to date on vaccines, heartworm-negative, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500.<br/><br/>Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
