Lucky - OK's Story
We are currently accepting adoption applications for Lucky- OK.<br/><br/>Lucky is a mixed breed. We believe him to be a Dachshund and possibly Chihuahua mix. Lucky is 15#. Lucky was dumped in an animal shelter in rural of Oklahoma. Due to the revolving door of intakes in this area, a three-day only hold is the shelter's policy. Sick, young, healthy, or otherwise, the abandoned, the stray, the surrendered pup is euthanized.<br/><br/>Lucky had the grace of God and good luck on his side. On his third and final day, Lucky was pulled by foster momma Felicia and he received a second chance at life.<br/><br/>Lucky is on a low dose, 50mg of Zonisamide, twice daily. Zonisamide is an anti-seizure medication. His seizures, prior to being prescribed Zonisamide, have all been mild with no loss of consciousness. <br/><br/>Lucky is truly a lap dog, loves to sit with his human. Lucky gets along with all other dogs, is indifferent to cats and is good with humans. Lucky is 10 years of age.<br/><br/>Lucky is looking for a home where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Lucky acclimate to his new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.<br/><br/>Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.<br/><br/>All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit.<br/>Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption. However, a portion of Lucky's adoption fee has been sponsored. His adoption fee is now $250.00<br/><br/>All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped.<br/><br/><br/>Meet and greets are scheduled upon approved, completed application.
