Lucky's Story
Lucky came to us from a small rural shelter in Kentucky. He had been shot in the face with some sort of pellets. Luckily they missed his eyes. He is all healed up from that and has no permanent damage thankfully. He is about 3 to 4 years old and is in good health.
Lucky has had a rough life it seems, but things are looking up now. He is fully vetted and ready to find that perfect family to love him forever.
Lucky is good with other dogs and people and is fine with cats although in his current foster home the cats are afraid of him just because they're not used to a dog. He is a quiet boy about 30 lb and appears to have possibly some German Shepherd in him? We really have no idea what breeds make up his DNA. He has a docked tail and is roughly the size of a large-ish beagle.
Lucky is not completely house trained yet as he is still trying to Mark occasionally. He was recently neutered and we think with diligence and time he will quit that behavior. We suggest his new family treat him like a puppy at first and take him out frequently for potty breaks.
We would prefer to have a fenced yard for Lucky to play in however it is not required. He will be only adopted to a family who wants him as a house dog, not one confined to a backyard. Lucky is getting familiar with walking on a leash, however he still needs positive training to improve his leash walking skills.
We do require our dogs to be maintained on Heartworm prevention and vaccinated in accordance with your veterinarian's protocol.
Lucky's adoption fee is $250
