We are considering applications throughout California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and other states as well. I’ve been around for about 10 years now, and I’m pretty good at taking life slow. I was found abandoned during a forest fire in California, which wasn’t the best time for me. But luckily, I’ve found a cozy spot to rest my paws and a foster family who really cares about me. Now, I'm officially on the market - looking for someone to spend my golden years with. <br/><br/>These days, I’m all about comfort. I love my bed and my blanket—if you’ve ever seen a dog in pure bliss, that's me when I’m curled up on my blankie. Napping is my specialty, though I do enjoy walks! I’ve got arthritis and hip dysplasia, but you wouldn’t know it watching me strut down the street (at a gentle pace, of course). Sometimes I get the zoomies and zoom around, I also run down the hallway to the elevator. Who said our physical ailments have to limit us??? Stairs aren’t my favorite, so I’ll need your help avoiding those. Every day is a good day when you know how to pace yourself and enjoy the little things. <br/><br/>I am experiencing some deafness, I guess it comes with age? Oh and apparently, I have a heart murmur, which the vet said is common in older, smaller dogs like me. The good news is that my echocardiogram revealed that my heart is still functioning well, it's the perfect size and the heart muscles are still strong, although I do cough sometimes. I currently do not need any meds; hopefully it stays that way for the next few years to come. Currently, I live in an apartment and my foster parents usually takes me on 4 short walks a day outside, where I can do my business. I enjoy sniffing all the different scents outside. My foster says I am literally an 'angel' and the best behaved dog she has fostered thus far! So many compliments - I'm blushing! <br/><br/>If you’re looking for a calm companion to share some loving years with, I might just be the one for you! I’m low-maintenance—just a little love and a comfy spot is all I need. I might need a week or two to feel comfortable with you and to fully trust you, but once I do - I'm full of heart. I may be older, but I’m making the most of every tail wag and every passing day.<br/><br/>I do OK at home when left alone for 5 or 6 hours. When you come back you will usually find me snoozing in my bed. Regardless, I get pretty attached to my hoomans and would love it if at least one person in my new family would work from home mostly.
