Lucky (Courtesy Post)'s Story

Meet Lucky

Lucky’s story began when we found him running loose in nearly 100-degree heat, dragging a makeshift chain-link lead behind him. He was hot, dehydrated, and filthy. We searched for his owners, but no one ever came for him. Despite such a heartbreaking start, Lucky has remained loving, trusting, and full of hope. Over the past several weeks, we’ve had the privilege of getting to know this incredibly special dog, and we know his future family will feel very lucky to have him.

Lucky is about a year old, a small Shepherd mix weighing approximately 42 pounds. He has been fully vetted and neutered, and he absolutely adores people. He is wonderful with children and has an affectionate, joyful personality that makes it easy to imagine him becoming a beloved member of the family. He would be thrilled to jump into the car for an adventure, join you for walks and outdoor exploring, and then come home to curl up beside you.

Lucky has the perfect balance of playful young-dog energy and a wonderful off switch. He loves to play, stay active, and spend time outside sniffing and discovering the world around him, but he also knows how to settle down and cuddle. He walks well on a leash and is house-trained. Lucky does well in his crate when someone is home. When left alone, he may fuss a little at first, but he settles. He needs a family who will offer patience, structure, and consistency as he continues learning and adjusting.

Lucky would likely do best with calm, balanced dogs. He would also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one and only. More than anything, he wants to be with his people and feel like he belongs.

After everything Lucky has endured, he deserves a forever home where he isn’t just someone’s dog but a cherished member of the family. We would love for him to have the stability and enrichment he needs to thrive. Lucky has so much love, loyalty, and happiness to give. All he needs now is a family who will give him the safe, loving future he has always deserved.
