Lucky was found limping and crying alone on a rural Northeast Texas road — likely hit by a car and left behind. He was scared, in pain…but still licking the hand that lifted him into safety. <br/><br/>What followed was a $1,500+ vet bill - orthopedic surgery to repair his broken hip, full vaccinations, neuter, and weeks of recovery. All covered and coordinated by the people who found him — someone who didn’t look away when it wasn’t their mess to fix.<br/><br/>Lucky’s name isn’t just cute. It’s earned. He is sweet, smart, and so ready to love big. Goofy, food-motivated, and eager to please (this boy will sit for snacks like it’s a career path). He’s potty trained, and rides well in the car. He’s currently living peacefully with three small, grumpy senior dogs — despite their constant side-eyes — and he handles it all with a heart of gold.<br/><br/>We think Lucky would thrive with an active family, and ideally another playful dog around his size. He loves to zoom around the yard, cuddle up on the couch, and learn new tricks (when snacks are involved.)<br/><br/>Lucky is being fostered by the same people who rescued him — the ones who saw him through everything.
