Lucinda's Story

Meet Lucinda (Lucy)!

Lucy's journey hasn't been easy, but her resilience and loving heart shine through. She wandered up to a kind stranger, frightened and injured, with wounds on her face and leg. Thanks to medical care and the patience of her foster family, Lucy has healed beautifully--both inside and out--and is now ready to find a forever home of her own.

Lucy is a gentle soul with a tender heart. She may start out a little shy, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into the ultimate "velcro dog." Her favorite place to be is right by her person's side--whether it's snuggling on the couch, showering you with kisses, or just keeping you company throughout the day.

Lucy does beautifully with other dogs but would also be perfectly content as the star of the show in a home where she's the only pup. She's crate trained (she'll even go in on command!), housetrained, and walks nicely on leash--though she may pull a little when her excitement takes over. Lucy also rides like a pro in the car and loves every trip.

Because of her past, Lucy can sometimes feel a little anxious, especially in busy outdoor settings with multiple dogs, and she may be vocal at first when kenneled. Mealtime is another big highlight of her day--she gets very enthusiastic about her food! Feeding her in her kennel works best and keeps her happy and comfortable.

Lucy has a low energy level and is happiest simply being near her humans. Her ideal home would be one where she can spend lots of time with her family and feel safe and loved.
If you're looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Lucy is ready to fill your life with love and cuddles.

Name: Lucinda
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier/Crossbreed
Sex: Female
Age: 3 years (estimated)
Weight: 40lbs
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Vaccinations: Up to date
Heartworm: Treatment completed 11/25/25
Microchipped: Yes

BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:
Good with Children: Unknown
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Unknown

Adoption Fee: $550.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)

Location of dog currently: Tennessee

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
