Lucas's Story

Meet Lucas!
He is a 1.5 yr old terrier mix, 68 lbs.
He spent the first year of his life growing up with young children in the home. He did not have much exposure or experience with other dogs during that time so unsure how he is with other dogs or cats.

Lucas is a goofy, lovable boy with a HUGE personality and an even bigger need for adventure. This sweet pup thrives in an active home where he can burn off energy and show off his playful, fun-loving side. If you’re someone who enjoys walks, playtime, and keeping your dog engaged, Lucas could be your perfect match.

Lucas is eager to learn and highly food-motivated, which makes training a rewarding experience. He’s already doing great with potty training—just take him out shortly after meals and he’s good to go. He also does well free roaming as long as he has toys or a bone to keep him busy. Bonus: he’s a champ in the bath (especially if peanut butter is involved)!

He’s still working on some manners, especially when it comes to leash walking (he can pull) and playtime—he tends to get a little overexcited and needs guidance to keep things calm and appropriate. He is doing WONDERFULLY learning basic commands like sit, stay, wait, place, to name a few. Lucas can also be startled by unfamiliar noises, which may lead to barking or getting worked up, so he’ll do best in a home that can provide structure, patience, and continued training.

Lucas absolutely shines when he gets plenty of exercise, and you’ll see his best, happiest self come out after a full day of activity.

Lucas is truly a funny, affectionate dog with tons of potential—he just needs the right person to guide him and help him feel confident in the world. In return, you’ll get a loyal, entertaining companion who’s always ready for the next adventure.

Ready to meet your new workout buddy and best friend? Lucas is waiting!
