LUCAS's Story
SOMEWHERE THERE IS A CIRCUS, MISSING A CLOWN DOG...OR MAYBE A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY, MISSING AN EWOK

Or if you REALLY use your imagination, a Werewolf missing a werecub.

His cuteness is inescapable and he knows it. He is loaded with charm, personality, intelligence, eagerness, energy and joy and lives every day as the happiest guy around.

Lucas was a reservation stray, fending for himself and really not doing to great of a job. When he was first picked up, he was covered in fleas, very underweight and feeling a little intimidated by life.

That version of Lucas is LONG gone. Oh sure, like most young pups without a ton of early human guidance, he can still hang back a bit, when in new situations or when meeting new faces but it is not in his nature to take a backseat for very long. As far as Lucas is concerned, life needs to be LIVED and you just cannot do that being a wallflower.

Lucas is about six months old and has a soft wire coat. He is far longer than he is tall, but sturdy and well put together. He has big turned out front feet and a big otter type tail, a wee bit of an underbite and will probably lighten up in color, as he ages, much like a silver poodle or Schnauzer.

For Lucas, the best days are spent playing with his foster friends, which include big dogs and little dogs of all sizes and breeds and genders. He loves to play chase, tug-a-war and loves his toys very much. He has fun with his foster's kitty, who is very dog savvy and enjoys tormenting Lucas from her perch on a kitchen chair but then they will also curl up together for a snooze, when it's nap or down time. We have not really had Lucas around very small children but it is hard to imagine, he would not enjoy a pack of crazy rowdy but dog gentle kids to call his own. He also loves a lap for curling up on too and if none of that is available, then he is happy to spend time in his crate or on one of the many beds, scattered throughout the house. But mostly Lucas just wants to have fun. Going for walks or rides, playing with his buddies, tormenting the cat, chasing or chewing on toys, running in the pasture or back yard, playing fence-line racing with his big buddies on the other side of the fence, and chasing balls are all things he loves to do.

Lucas is about 90% housebroken, as long as you give him plenty of trips outside, to do his business. He is not going to scratch on doors, or come and get you, if he has to potty, but he prefers to do his business outside, so if given ample opportunity to do so, will. He is great on a leash, whether you like to use a collar or harness and is a good traveler too.

So if Lucas sounds like your kind of forever friend, for you or your family, please go to our website at www.allmuttsgreatandsmall.org/adoption and submit your online application. We would love to set up a meet and greet time for anybody who would be a great match and get this guy into his forever home, where he can bring the fun, the laughter and the love to everyone.

Lucas is not yet neutered but is scheduled to be so on December 12th. He is up to date on vaccines, including rabies, fecal checked and treated for intestinal parasites and external parasites, and is microchipped. He is very soon going to be ready to rock and roll with his new pack of friends and can't wait to get started.

Adoption donation $350

PLEASE NOTE*:

* We require notes from certified doctors/counselors/therapists, when
requesting a dog as an ESA
*Inquiries submitted through Petfinder, are not the
same as applications submitted through our webpage.
*Yes we do out of state adoptions.
*No, we do not transport. You must be willing to come
and meet the dog and take it home with you.
*Yes we do Canadian adoptions.
*If the dog is on Petfinder, it is still available.
*You must be 18 years of age to adopt
*If you submit questions about an adoptable dog,
covered in the Petfinder bio, we will not respond.
*We do not pick the first good application. We pick the
most suitable application for the dog, out of all
submitted.
*All correspondence is handled via email as time allows.
* If you are not chosen, you will not be notified

For a more detailed explanation of our adoption process, go to www.allmuttsgreatandsmall.org/adoption and read "The Adoption Process" link
