Luca's Story

Luca is a 2yo grey and white husky, he is neutered, up to date on Rabies and DHPP Vaccines, tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases, and microchipped.

Luca came to our shelter when he was returned to his breeder. Returned because he decided to find free-range food at a neighbor's house. We can't really blame Luca though, he shouldn't have been allowed to free-roam, and chicken is delicious..... j/k, but it's definitely not out of character of a husky or really any working dog to find and eat a free roaming chicken. We are not going to hold it against him, just a characteristic to note to prevent from occurring again.

With that being said, Luca has been phenomenal while at the shelter. This handsome guy is a character and a half. He is well mannered, walks great on a leash, loves dogs, people, and so far, tested with older kids. He loves hanging out with his people, does tricks for treats, and is a pleasure to have around.

I will tell you, he is a Houdini when not with his people. Not out of character for the breed, he just mastered it and doesn't' mind showing off. We crate him when not out with us, but we have now placed him in an escape proof crate. Once he learned he can't get out, he has done great with it.

His big personality and antics will keep you entertained daily, but his chill personality will keep you falling in love with him over and over again. If you think this handsome guy is the right guy for you, please contact Blackstone Regional Animal Shelter to schedule a meet and greet. Applications can be done at time of meet and greet or in advance at Blackstonepolice.org under the Animal Control tab. Applications in advance definitely speed lines the adoption process.

Thank you everyone!!!
Blackstone Valley Animal Control
Blackstone Regional Animal Shelter
