Louise's Story

Meet Louise

Louise is a gentle little Bichon Frise mix with a quiet sadness behind her eyes. She came to us alongside her sister, Thelma, after being transferred from DeKalb Animal Shelter. We don't know much about their past, but it's clear life hasn't been kind to her. Louise arrived severely matted and urine stained, carrying the physical signs of long-term neglect and the emotional weight that often comes with it.

Thanks to the kindness of a very generous groomer and the loving care of a wonderful volunteer who bathed her, Louise now looks like the dog she was always meant to be. Underneath the tangles was a soft, sweet girl just waiting to be seen.

Louise is a bit under-socialized and shy, but she is the more outgoing of the two sisters. While Thelma tends to retreat into fear, Louise shows small moments of bravery, curiosity, and hope. She often relies on her sister for comfort, but she also has the potential to build confidence on her own with patience and gentle guidance.

Louise would do best in a calm, understanding home where she's allowed to move at her own pace and learn that people can be kind. She doesn't ask for much, just safety, consistency, and someone willing to show her that the rest of her life can be better than what came before.

She's been through so much already. Louise deserves a future filled with softness, love, and the chance to finally feel secure.

Dogs: Unknown, we highly recommend bringing in your pups to meet!
Cats: Unknown
Kids: MUST MEET EVERYONE IN THE HOME!
