Louis's Story

Louis is a 1½ year old, 70-80 lb boy with a big personality, a bigger heart, and enough enthusiasm to keep life fun every single day. He absolutely loves people and thrives on attention. If you’re holding a treat or a squeaky toy, congratulations!! You’re instantly his new best friend. And if you start giving booty scratches, just know Louis believes that should continue indefinitely.

Louis is everything you’d expect from a young dog: energetic, playful, bouncy, and still learning his manners and pushing buttons you didn't know you had. He has all the ingredients to become an incredible companion, but he will need a home committed to providing structure, consistency, and continued training. Louis is a smart boy who wants direction, give him clear leadership and he will flourish.

He enjoys walks, loves car rides, and is always ready for an adventure. He’s currently learning leash manners and improving every day. Louis is intelligent and very capable of learning how to respond politely with the right guidance and positive reinforcement.

Louis would do best as the only pet in the home. While he currently lives with other dogs, he prefers having his own space. He also has a strong interest in chasing small animals such as rabbits, lizards, and cats, so a home without small pets is best.

He can be reactive toward other dogs on walks, so Louis needs an adopter who understands dog behavior and is comfortable continuing his training in this area. With patience, consistency, and a confident handler, Louis has every ability to make great progress.

Because of his size, energy level, and training needs, Louis is not recommended for first time dog owners. He needs an experienced, steady person who can be the calm leader he looks to.

For the right family, Louis will be an incredibly rewarding companion who is loyal, loving, fun, and full of personality. He simply needs someone willing to guide him into becoming the best version of himself.

Est DOB 10/9/2024
