Louie's Story
Louie is such a sweet boy and found a loving family in Mequon. They have two boys, just the right age for him to play with. Louie is learning all the right things to do and teaching the family a thing or two.
AGE: 10 months 9/1/07
Where I am from: Cathage, IL
My Story: Louie has come incredibly far since we have had him. When we first got him he was always hanging his head and VERY scared. He has since decided that people can be pretety fun and nice. He is now my little shadow. He got loose a couple of times and it was quite the trick to catch him because he is not food driven, but now he can be loose outside and comes when he is called! He does not like to be tied up, but walks on a leash just fine. If you tie him he becomes very scared and wants to run and usually breaks his collar or pulls out of it. We have since put a harness on him and have slowly been working with him to not have the reaction he used to have. He learns really quickly as long as he trusts his handler. He likes to play with other dogs and is quite comically submissive! He is just starting to think toys are kind of fun to play with becuase his foster brother is always tearing them up. He is still afraid of loud noises (remote control dropping on the wood floor), but is getting much better and just gets startled instead of running away and hiding in a corner shaking. He is very well behaved in the house and has not had any accidents. He does not mind being in a crate too much, but has not been in a crate too much here because we have an outside kennel and he has become trustworthy enough to sleep on the floor in our bedroom with the other dogs. He
mostly sleeps and eats when he is in the house. He would do good with another dog friend that enjoys playing or humans that are home a lot to keep him company and help him gain his confidence. He is going to be a great dog that will be very devoted to his human/humans as long as they are very kind and reassuring to him. In just a week he is a different dog, give him a few weeks and he will be an amazing
companion.

HOUSEBROKEN?

TRAINING?

GOOD WITH CHILDREN? I
GOOD WITH DOGS?
