Oh, Louie. If you are looking for a roly, poly, opinionated ball of fur - Look no further! Louie is your main man. All 27 pounds of him. He is a chihuahua mix, about 8 years young. Louie came to us very sick, but recovered quickly and is doing well. He is a bit of a spit fire, and likes to keep his world small. He enjoys short walks, and sitting outside if it isn’t too cold for short amounts of time. Believe it or not, he can run - but it reminds us of the cutest waddling duck you could ever find. He likes comfy beds, and is learning about toys. He enjoys stuffed toys, and will chase them a little bit while grunting and growling playfully like a little piggie. Louie does like to beg his foster mom for food, though we are working on convincing him to take a more active role in the lifestyle change we have bestowed upon him. He is looking for a calm home, without small children. Louie takes some time to warm up to new people, and can be easily startled. He is looking for a patient home to help him continue to build his confidence, and help him feel safe. While he may disagree, we are also looking for a home who will be committed to helping him work towards a healthier future with a diet and exercise plan. Louie has lived with other dogs his entire life, however he is not a big fan of sharing attention, food, or toys with them and may do best living out his golden years as the only dog in the household. Given Louie’s nervousness with new people, we would also be open to a foster to adoption home for him, where he would remain in our foster program for a few weeks while our trainers provide any support needed to ensure a smooth transition. We know he may be looking for just the right home, but trust us - he is worth it! He is snuggly, sweet, and can we say adorable!!!
The adoption donation for Louie is $100. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations.
