LouLou's Story
LouLou
6 years, 11lbs
Rescued in the Southwest with her dog siblings after their owner passed away

Meet Loulou! This sweet, calm, easygoing 6-year-old, 14-pound girl is low energy and independent, needing a bit of time to warm up and build trust in new situations. She's comfortable with adults but takes some time with new people, does best with older, quieter kids rather than young children. She gets along fine with dogs her own size (big dogs aren't really her thing). She's quiet when left alone and just needs some space and patience when meeting anyone new — once she trusts you, though, she's happy to accept pets, always on her own terms. She's potty and crate trained, and her leash skills are excellent — she walks on a loose leash with zero pulling.

Loulou's days are simple and content: she's not a morning person, but once outside for her walk she perks right up, followed by breakfast, quiet snoozing at her person's feet, an afternoon walk, couch time, dinner, cuddles, and a short walk before bed. She's a true couch potato who hasn't shown much interest in toys but loves being near her humans, and she has an endearing habit of circling a few times before plopping down on her side to rest. Loulou would do best in a calm household, either as an only dog or alongside another small, low-energy dog, and she's a great fit for apartment living. Her foster describes her as wonderfully go-with-the-flow — an easygoing girl who could settle happily into almost any calm home, as long as she's given the time and space to feel safe.

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt LouLou, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.

Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!
