Lottie's Story

Professionally Pretty. Personally Very Interested in Your Attention.

Lottie has a lot going for her. She’s beautiful, wicked smart, confident, happy-go-lucky, great with other dogs, and appears to have been born with the deeply held belief that people are one of life’s better inventions.

This girl loves affection. Not in a timid, reassurance-seeking kind of way, either. Lottie is perfectly confident heading out into the world on her own. She’ll explore the yard, romp around with the other pups, investigate whatever looks interesting, and happily participate in whatever little adventure is unfolding. But every so often, she’ll look up and notice there’s a perfectly good human standing nearby who isn’t currently petting her....That seems wasteful. So over she comes!

Lottie doesn’t make a big production out of it. She’ll just trot over like she remembered an appointment, lean into you, and collect some loves. She has the confidence of a dog who has never once considered the possibility that you might not be delighted to see her. And unfortunately for everyone trying to get anything accomplished around here, she is correct.

Give her some scratches and she’ll soak them up like this was the entire reason she came outside. Maybe she’ll head back to whatever she was doing afterward. Maybe she’ll decide your performance has earned an extension. Lottie likes to keep her schedule flexible.

She loves other dogs and would LOVE having a pup sibling in her forever home. She’s playful and social, loves romping around and exploring, and has that wonderful kind of confidence that lets her enjoy whatever is happening without needing to control it. If everybody is headed across the yard, Lottie’s coming. Does she know why? No. Was that included in the invitation? Also no. The group is moving and she trusts there’s a reason.

And when the fun winds down, Lottie has an excellent off switch. She’s every bit as happy settling beside her person and enjoying some affection as she is out exploring. She doesn’t need a constant production happening around her. Give her some adventure, a dog buddy, people to love, and somewhere comfortable to land at the end of the day, and Lottie is pretty convinced you’ve cracked the code.

She’s also incredibly smart and eager to please. Lottie pays attention, catches on quickly, and affection happens to be one of her favorite rewards, which should make training pretty convenient. Some dogs require a complicated assortment of high-value treats. Lottie would like to know whether “Who’s a good girl?” comes with benefits. She is willing to negotiate.

And then there’s the obvious. Lottie is absolutely gorgeous. We think she may be some kind of brindle Lab or Pointer mix, but breed is our best guess. Whatever went into making her, somebody got ambitious with the paint job. Her brindle coat is stunning, her markings are beautiful, and she has the kind of face that is going to make strangers stop you in parking lots. Official breed designation: excellent hair, unclear paperwork.

But that’s just what gets you to stop and look at her.

The part that gets you is Lottie herself. It’s the way she notices you from across the yard and comes over. The little lean when your hand finds the right spot. The confidence she carries into the world and the softness she saves for her people.

The way she can be having the absolute time of her life and still decide that being beside you sounds even better. Right now, Lottie will happily trot over to just about anyone willing to give her some love.

But someday, somebody is going to become her person. She’ll still explore. She’ll still play. She’ll still have important things to investigate and places she needs to go. But every so often, she’ll look up from whatever she’s doing, spot that person across the yard, and come trotting back.

Not because she needs anything. Just because that’s where she wants to be.

And good grief, somebody is going to be very lucky to be the person Lottie keeps choosing.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://form.jotform.com/260401018308040

+++++++

Lottie is being fostered in Texas and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!

+++++++

What Is a Benefactor Dog or Puppy, and Why Is the Adoption Fee Higher?

Benefactor dogs and puppies are typically specific breed mixes or high-demand rescues who tend to find homes quickly even with a higher adoption fee. These dogs play a special role in our mission.

Their increased fees help cover the costs for dogs who need much more time, care, and resources before theyre ready for adoption. Some dogs spend monthseven over a yearin our care, requiring expensive surgeries, heartworm treatment, behavioral training, or ongoing medical support.

By adopting a Benefactor dog, you're not only giving them a loving homeyoure also helping to fund the second chance of another dog still waiting for theirs. Its a meaningful way to make a difference beyond just one life.

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress and thats the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isnt about perfection; it's about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know theyre finally home. Thats when youll see them bloom soft and steady into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you'll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
