Loretta's Story

This little lady is Loretta!

Loretta is a 6 pound, 6 year old female long-haired chihuahua in need of a forever home. Loretta entered rescue when her owner passed away. She came into rescue quite overweight, but her foster family has been working on this with her.

For such a small dog, Loretta has a lot of personality! She can chill all day, but also loves to play with little Nylabones. She loves food, especially human food. Her favorite is apples- she will make sure in no uncertain terms that he foster mom WILL share with her! She isn’t a huge cuddler but does like to be close to her foster family, and they suspect she may turn into a cuddler once she finds her person. Loretta isn’t a huge barker, though may bark when she wants something or when scolding another dog in the house. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by noises or visitors. She seems to do okay with most other small dogs as long as they’re not overly loud.

Loretta does okay with her crate and loves it as a safe space, but was the only dog of an older woman who didn’t work and as such this would be a dream scenario for Loretta, though not required. Loretta can be cranky at times like most chihuahuas, though her foster parent doesn’t feel she must go to someone experienced with chihuahuas.

Loretta is pee pad trained.

Loretta is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, and fully vetted. She is microchipped, heartworm negative, and on monthly heartworm prevention.

Loretta’s adoption donation is $300.

If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below.

To submit an application go here: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.

Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative.

Reference checks and a home visit are required so SE dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.
