Lorena's Story

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

TO APPLY:
1) copy/paste this link https://gdrne.com/adopt/adoption-application/
2) OR at the bottom of the page click on "Adoption Policy" and then it will bring up the adoption application.

Meet Lorena, an 11-month-old Schnauzer mix, weighing 34 pounds (as of 10/28/26). All the way from Puerto Rico, Lorena had an owner who didn’t take care of her so she roamed the streets playing music while dodging cars. The streets are no place for this lovable gal! She's looking for her fur-ever home!

Lorena is a beautiful and friendly dog who will steal your heart in no time! Don't believe us? Her foster said: "She is the most sociable, loving, friendly and playful girl you will see." That's a 10/10 recommendation! Lorena is super cute, super adorable and just plain super. When she's not playing with other dogs or charming children, she's actually superhero saving the world. But shh! You can't tell anyone her identity! She hasn't met cats yet but hopefully an introduction is in her future.

Lorena will benefit from an active family that can walk her, take her for outdoor activities and let her fly free in a fenced yard. She's great on a leash, great in a crate (though prefers to roam) and just needs some extra patience with potty adjustment. She will be the perfect addition to any family. Lorena is waiting for you!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Lorena, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
