Lorelei's Story

Lorelei is a quiet and gentle dog who loves to relax and enjoy the simple things in life. She's a sweetheart who loves to be around people and receive lots of affection and pats. Despite what her past has been, it's clear that she's an incredibly loyal companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin. She's the ideal dog for someone looking for a calm and gentle companion. Lorelei is an adult dog estimated to be about 3 yrs old. That's such a perfect age! Old enough to be out of the obnoxious puppy antics, but young enough to give you years of love and companionship. She's currently in a foster home, where she has shown herself to be excellent with the two other dogs. She has not been tested with cats, but she has shown little interest in chickens and other small animals that she has encountered. She loves having her ears rubbed and scrunched. She's also a huge fan of lying outside and soaking up sun rays. And oh, if you have a pool, she loves to lie in the water to cool off from the Houston heat. If you enjoy taking walks, Lorelei has excellent leash walking skills. She's the perfect addition to a loving home, where she will be showered with care and attention, and have a safe space to relax and be herself.

Lorelei has received all of her vaccinations and is spayed and microchipped. She is currently being treated for heartworms and the rescue will provide the remaining part of her treatment at no cost to the foster or adopter. She is crate-trained and house-trained. She's already nailed her leash-walking and her sit. She is a little cautious when approaching new environments, but she is gaining confidence with each step. She's shown herself to be extremely adaptable.
If you're looking to welcome a new furry family member into your lives, come meet Lorelei today! Contact info@wagsfundrescue.com

WAGS Fund's Adoption Policy
WAGS ADOPTION PROCESS We work hard to find the perfect home for all the dogs and cats in our care. Listed below is the sequence of events that we go through to assure that our pets and our applicants are the perfect match for each other: 1. As a courtesy to our foster parents, we will ask you to fill out the first part of the adoption application form prior to setting up a private meet and greet. After reviewing your application, we will contact you for a phone or email discussion, usually with the foster parent, to discuss your current situation, your expectations of pet ownership, and to answer questions that you may have about the dog. After the initial discussion, if you decide that you would like to move forward with the adoption procedure, we will arrange a time for you to meet your prospective new family member. We may suggest you bring your other pets to this meeting. 2. After receiving your application, we will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals. 3. If the initial meeting goes well and both parties agree to move forward with the adoption, we will make an appt to schedule a home visit and/or arrange to have the pet meet your other animals. 4. If, at the home visit, both parties agree that the home is good match for the adoptable pet, we will move forward with finalizing the adoption. Most of the paperwork will be done electronically. 5. At a mutually convenient time, we will arrange to transfer the pet to your possession. We will take a happy tail photo and collect the adoption fee (if it hasn’t been previously paid electronically). The medical records will be transferred to you via email. 6. The adoption coordinator will check in either by phone or email to make sure things are going well and to answer any questions you might have.
