10/6 update: <br/>Foster to adopt home needed!<br/><br/> Lola is a little pumpkin, spice, and everything nice! This pint-sized pup is ready to find her forever family.<br/><br/>Over the past few months, Lola has been learning all about home life and has made great progress meeting both new people and other dogs. She’s playful, affectionate, and loves to snuggle. When she gets excited during playtime, she even makes the cutest little grunting sounds and likes to talk. <br/><br/>Lola is a great walking buddy, but she’s also perfectly happy being carried around, which is easy to do when you’re a small chihuahua. She may antagonize bigger dogs in the home, so it would be best for her to stick with those her size, small.<br/><br/>With a little patience and understanding, Lola will reward you with endless love and companionship. She is currently in a foster home but would really like to be in a forever home, soon!<br/><br/>If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who will have your back in a pinch, defend your honor or be a diva "just because", our Lola needs you! <br/><br/>Due to her small size and shy but sweet temperament, foster to adopt requirements are:<br/><br/>-Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.<br/>-Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.<br/>-Being able to bring her back to our vets office in Adams if additional care is needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking her to your current vet to be established.<br/>-Homes with children over 14 years old should be ok, but Lola would prefer a calm, quiet home to a more active environment. <br/>-Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure they are an acceptable match.<br/>-Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet.<br/>-She scares easy when on a leash so homes with a fenced yard will be prioritized.<br/><br/>An adoption donation of $450 is being asked if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. She had her initial vet check, is current on vaccines, and has been spayed. She’s spent the last few months getting adjusted to home life and has learned to make friends with new dogs as well as people. She’s a playful pup who loves to snuggle with you and makes the cutest little grunting sounds when she plays. She’s great on walks, but also doesn’t mind being carried around, which is easy since she is pint-sized!<br/><br/>Lola would do well with a family with people no younger than their teens and does well with other small dogs that she can call friends.<br/><br/>6/22/26 Update:<br/>Foster to adopt home needed!<br/><br/>Do you want a little spice in your life? If so, Lola may be the perfect chiquita for you!<br/><br/>This 2.5 year old, 11ish# Chihuahua is a little spice, a bit of diva and a lot of love (once she gets to know ypu). While she may be a little shy at first, she like to rule the roost, then run away scared. Once she gets to know you, shell become your most loyal companion and happily stick by your side. <br/><br/>This sweet little girl loves belly rubs and will gladly roll onto her back the moment she thinks one might be coming. She can be a little stinker, though, and if scared, she may give a little nip to let you know "just kidding, ha ha". She may antagonize other dogs in the home, so it would be best if she kept company with small dogs only. She likes to tap them and get them going then runa for cover so as not to be caught.<br/><br/>With a little patience and understanding, Lola will reward you with endless love and companionship. She is currently in boarding so she will need some brushing up on potty training and other skills but we think she will be a quick learner once she gets the time, consistency and love she has been so longing for. These local Chihuahua girls will be 3 years old in February and are super sweet (and a bit needy). When their onwer found herself in failing health and her husband had to pick up extra hours at work, the family realized they needed more then they could provide so they reached out for help. They are going to need a little time to settle in so that we can get to know them better, and they could really use a foster home to do that in... They grew up with a few dog savy cats and okder kids so they should be fine with both! Unfortunately, due to their previous owners' declining health, they have not had much in the way of training. They did not have a good area to walk or play outside so they were trained to use weepads in the house but don't have a lot of experience outdoors yet.
