Lola's Story

Meet Lola 💛

Lola is a small, 4-year-old Maltipoo weighing just 8 pounds, and she is as cute as they come. Behind that adorable face, though, is a very sensitive soul who is still learning what it means to feel safe and loved.

Lola spent her first four years with a commercial breeder, so the world is a big and sometimes scary place for her. She is very timid and wary of people, and it takes her time—sometimes quite a bit of time—to warm up to new surroundings and new faces. But with patience and kindness, she will come around, and those who earn her trust will see a gentle, sweet little companion emerge.

The good news? Lola gets along beautifully with other dogs and even cats. Having a confident, friendly pet companion in the home could really help her feel more secure.

Lola is not yet house trained, and her future family should be prepared for this to be an ongoing journey. She will need consistency, patience, and understanding as she learns, at her own pace, what’s expected of her.

Her ideal home would be a calm, quiet environment with someone who is home much of the day—someone committed to helping her build confidence and willing to celebrate the small victories along the way. She’s not the kind of dog who will adjust overnight, but for the right person, she will be incredibly rewarding.

Lola has been in a foster home now for a few months and is ready to find her fur-ever home with someone willing to meet her where she is and show her that the world can be a safe and loving place.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting Lola and can give her the time, patience, and compassion she deserves, she just might be the little heart you’ve been waiting for. 🐾
