Loki's Story
Meet Loki - A Gentle Little Soul Looking for a Soft Place to Land

Loki is an approximately 10-year-old Silky Terrier x Chihuahua mix who found himself in our care through no fault of his own. He was deeply loved, but when his owner had to move and couldn't find pet-friendly housing, Loki's world was turned upside down.

The shelter has been a tough transition for this sensitive senior. While he has never shown aggression, Loki has been understandably bashful with strangers and slow to trust. Change is hard-especially at his age-and what we see in him is a heartbroken little dog who simply wants to feel safe and loved again. Recently, he has begun to open up to staff, and with that trust has come glimpses of the sweet companion he truly is.

Once Loki feels comfortable with you, he enjoys affection and doesn't mind being picked up. He has all the makings of a wonderful lap dog and seems happiest when he can quietly shadow the people he trusts. He's gentle, loyal, and deeply devoted-he just needs patience, kindness, and time to let his guard down.

We were told Loki is house trained and accustomed to living indoors, and he has been non-destructive in our care. We believe he will settle back into a home routine with relative ease once he's in a calm, loving environment. He does well with other dogs and cats, though he prefers companions who respect his space-high-energy, rambunctious dogs aren't really his style.

Loki is looking for a peaceful home and a patient heart willing to show him that love hasn't disappeared. In return, he promises quiet companionship, gentle affection, and unwavering loyalty. If you're looking to make a meaningful difference in a senior dog's life, Loki may be the perfect little shadow for you.
