Loki's Story

Hi! My name is Loki! I’m a darling brown brindle French Bulldog, approximately 2.5 yrs of age and 35 lbs. My foster Mom says I’m a bundle of fun! I love all people and every dog I meet, so it’s pretty hard not to love me! I get so excited that my usual greeting is some pretty impressive jumping (my foster Mom says it’s not good for me to do that so I’m learning to control myself, but it’s hard)!
I’m a happy, friendly, active boy and I keep busy just being busy. Whether exploring the yard/house, playing with toys, or my favorite thing which is playing with my doggie friends, you will find me doing something all the time. I’m always ready to go with you and down for doing anything fun. I’m full of energy so my family needs to be active and interactive with me.
I’m crate trained and sleep quietly through the night (after some good bone chewing). I’m housetrained, but don’t expect me to be able to ‘hold it’ for extended periods. My foster Mom makes sure I get outside to do my business every couple of hours… a doggie door is great for me to go out whenever I feel the urge!
I’m good on leash (although I need reminders not to pull) and I love going on my daily walks. Sightseeing and sniffing is what I like to do… and my game is picking up leaves and/or other objects I come across, so you gotta keep your eye on me not to eat whatever I pick up!
I’m such a ‘people dog’ and really love being with my humans… I fall over for scratches and belly rubs are a major plus!!
My favorite thing has to be, playing with other doggie friends!! I’m good with dogs of all sizes as long as they can handle my exuberance and play style… but it is definitely best for my play buddies to be my size or bigger as I’m a pretty rough and tumble kinda guy. My ideal home will have another young dog to match my energy and play.
I have no experience with kids and due to my exuberance and mouthy play my new home should not have children under 7 yrs of age.
Although I’m a very healthy boy (per my veterinarian) my breed comes with certain predisposed medical issues so my new family should be well aware of these issues and the costs involved with owning my breed. Purchase of medical insurance is required.
My adoption fee includes current health examination, basic vaccinations, neuter, microchip, flea and deworming treatment, along with any other medical/dental deemed necessary by my veterinarian.
Home ownership of a single-family home that has an attached yard with 6 foot secured fencing is required.

Rhodie's Rescue's Adoption Policy
WE DO NOT DO LONG DISTANCE (SOUTH CALIF) OR OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS You must be 21 years or older to adopt. Please bring a valid form of I.D. All members of the family must be present in order to adopt. We want to make sure it's a good fit for everyone! Applications must be completed and approved for each dog prior to adopting. We do not adopt our dogs on a “first come, first serve” basis. We place our dogs with the best matched family according to their specific needs and personalities. You must provide pictures of your backyard (including fences, gates and latches) along with the areas will the dog will eat and sleep. Some dogs may require a home visit prior to adoption. If you are planning on adopting a dog and already have an existing dog, we ask that you leave them at home when attending our adoption event. Once you're application has been approved to adopt a specific dog, you can schedule an appointment for a meet and greet at your home with your potential new pet. Renters must provide a copy of their lease (including pet policy) and duration of lease. Homeowners should know if their home insurance policy has breed restrictions/exclusions, and be familiar with any HOA by-laws regarding dogs. Townhome/Condominium owners should be familiar with their HOA by-laws, including restricted breeds, weight limits, and maximum number of pets allowed. All dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped prior to adoption. We make our best effort to treat any medical conditions deemed necessary, unless it is out of our financial reach or not in the best interest of the dog at the time. At which point we will disclose and discuss any known medical issues or conditions that will need to be addressed with the potential adopter prior to adoption. Most of our dogs are rescued from shelters or neglectful situations and we have either limited or no knowledge of their health background or behavioral background. Although we have our dogs checked by veterinarians, and we do our best to evaluate and determine any behavioral issues, we cannot guarantee the dog you adopt will be free of any current or future health or behavioral problems. Adopters must be willing to allow a Rhodie’s representative to make a follow-up contact, either in person or by phone. If at any time you are unable to keep the pet or offer it proper care, it must be offered back to Rhodie’s before alternate arrangements are made. If approved, an applicant must sign a contract to adopt a dog which outlines the responsibilities of the rescue and the adopter. This contract is legally binding. If any information provided by the adopter is found to be false, misleading or purposefully omitted, on either the application or during interview with Rhodie’s Representatives, will be cause for denial of adoption and/or removal of the dog from your home, regardless of when or how the information was discovered.
