Loki's Story
Hi this is Loki (also answers to Goober and Sir). His name absolutely fits him through. All mischief, all heart. Too adorable to be mad at and not quite chaos. He know sit, up, down and shake. He's very smart and incredibly quick to train. In just a month with his foster sister he has learned a ton about person space and boundaries and his least favorite word, No. We are still working on knowing when our friends do and don't want to play. Basically he's a fully grown dog that thinks like a puppy
He LOVES big hugs around his chest. We think he likes the pressure. It calms him down when super rambunctious. He has a little separation anxiety so structure and routine helps a lot with this. He loves to make sure you are aware he was displeased while you were away if left uncrated. We've lost a couple of flip flops, books and socks Just general mischief. He doesn't have accidents in his crate, though we are working on bell training as he still has challenges when the routine changes. We think its a communication issue and once he can tell us more clearly, those will go away.
He is so much puppy energy That's the worst of it. Truly, just puppy behaviors that haven't been trained. He hasn't shown a single ounce of mean or mad. We aren't sure how much he was socialized at his first home, so we are working on that a lot with visits to the dog park and to see dog friends. He communicates via snort and Its the goofiest expression. He doesn't really bark unless he's having a hard time communicating. He loves to gnaw but not chew, bite, or tear. Sticks are a favorite but also does great with strong toys designed for big dog energy He will will chase smaller animals it seems to play His foster cat sibling is not a fan of this so cat free home might be best
Loki's biggest challenge is that he doesn't know how big he is or how hard he's playing. Folks with large breed experience who can help him learn to be a gentleman in public would be incrededble for Loki All he wants are his people and their attention. He's the perfect combo of sweet and happy! What's not to love?!
