Lobo's Story
Meet Lobo!

***Bio Update!!***

Say hello to Lobo, an extremely handsome Siberian Husky mix who's still searching for his forever family! This adventurous and fun-loving boy came to us from our wonderful rescue partner outside of Cancun, Mexico, and he's been patiently waiting since March of this year for his special day to come.

Lobo is everything you'd expect from a Husky mix - active, intelligent, and full of personality! He'll make a fantastic family pet and outdoor adventure companion for a very lucky person or family. And being PNW winter-ready, he's more than excited for all the hikes, snowy outings, and adventures that await him.

His ideal home will be with someone who's home most of the time and can offer him patience, love, and understanding as he adjusts to a new environment. A securely fenced yard or plenty of outdoor space where he can safely roam and play is a must for this beautiful boy.

Lobo is great with people and enjoys spending time with other dogs. We recommend a home without small children, or one with older, dog-savvy kids who can match his energy and respect his boundaries.

Because of his breed mix, we're looking for an adopter who has experience with - or has done their research into - Huskies or other northern breeds. With the right person, Lobo will thrive and become a loyal, adventurous, and loving companion.

He's been waiting a while for his new beginning... could you be the one to give Lobo the forever home he deserves?

Once a street-savvy survivor roaming the outskirts of Cancun, Lobo has left his past behind and is embracing his second chance at life with wide eyes and an open heart. Now living with a temporary foster in Central Oregon, this stunning 2-2.5-year-old Husky mix boy is discovering what it means to be part of a home-and he's ready to find a forever family to explore the world with.

With his piercing good looks and lively personality, Lobo is the definition of an adventure buddy in the making. He's medium-sized, house-trained, and walks beautifully on leash. Structure, routine, and a little bit of patience will help him continue to blossom into the incredible companion he's meant to be.

Lobo is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and ready for his next big chapter-one filled with love, adventure, and a family that understands the magic of Huskies and the reward of helping a rescue pup thrive.

If you're looking for a loyal co-pilot with a zest for life and a heart as big as his ears, Lobo is your guy.

Submit your adoption application on our website today to set up a meet and greet & a flexible 3-7 day in-home adoption trial and see if Lobo is your perfect fit.

Will you be this boy's Lucky New Hero?

steps to adopting

(OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS ARE IN SEPARATE TEMPORARY FOSTER HOMES BETWEEN BEND/CENTRAL OREGON AND THE GREATER PORTLAND AREA. THEREFORE, MEET AND GREETS ARE NOT DONE AT OUR FACILITY. TO LEARN MORE, PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR ADOPTION APPLICATION ONLINE AND OUR ADOPTION PROGRAM MANAGER WILL REACH OUT TO YOU WITH FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MEET YOUR NEW PUP!)

The first step to adopting a dog from SDH is to complete the adoption application. First click on the "OUR DOGS tab up above, and then click on the orange colored "Fill out an Adoption Application here" button to start the process). Once submitted, please expect 3-5 business days or sooner for processing and to hear back from us. Once you are pre-approved, your adoption application will remain on file with us for 1 year and it can go towards multiple adoptions within that 1 year time frame before it expires.

To finalize an adoption you must sign the adoption contract and pay the full adoption fee. The adoption fee helps cover our costs. On average, per dog, it costs SDH between $500-$700 for vetting/medical/sterilization, transport and other rescue related expenses. All dogs are rescued and do not transport to SDH until they are healthy and ready to be adopted. All dogs are examined by a veterinarian before they fly, which includes sterilization whenever possible, given standard vaccines and rabies (if age appropriate). Most dogs are sterilized before they come into our program, however if this is not the case we will spay/neuter them once they arrive at our cost.

Upon their arrival, all dogs are seen for a wellness exam by SDH's medical team. Once the adoption is finalized, any further medical care or treatment will not be covered by SDH, unless discussed prior with our medical team. All known issues are disclosed to the best of our ability prior to finalizing the adoption.
