Lizzy's Story

This is a courtesy post only by Denton Humane Society for Denton Animal Services

Meet beautiful Lizzy. She is an 8-year-old shepherd mix with the most soulful eyes. She has a very calm nature. But wait – it gets better – she is crate trained, housebroken (bonus) and knows basic commands. Her situation has become urgent to get her into foster or permanent home care. She has a medium energy level—she enjoys playtime and toys, but also loves to relax and unwind. Lizzy is food motivated, which helps with training and building her confidence. She is generally indifferent to other dogs but can be selective, so a meet and greet is recommended if you have other pets. Lizzy would do best with a foster or permanent home who can help her continue to gain confidence and provide her with a stable, loving environment. Her calm demeanor and potty training skills make her a great companion for someone looking for a low-maintenance, affectionate dog. Lizzy’s mental well-being will greatly benefit from time in a home, as the shelter environment is stressful for her after such a long stay. Fostering Lizzy will not only give her a much-needed break but also help her shine and increase her chances of finding a forever home. For adoption or foster information, call 940-349-7594 or inquire by emailing animal.services@cityofdenton.com.
