Lizzie's Story

Meet Lizzie — A Truly Wonderful Soul With a Heart of Gold

Lizzie is a beautiful 6-year-old German Shepherd mix (about 80% German Shepherd, 20% Dutch Shepherd) who is as sweet as they come. She’s healthy, steady, and currently working on losing a bit of extra weight — so we’re hoping to find a home that can give her consistent walks or regular outdoor time to help her continue on that path.

What makes Lizzie special is her incredible personality. She is one of those dogs who seems to understand people on a deeper level — gentle, intuitive, and endlessly loving. She’s loyal without being demanding, affectionate without being overwhelming, and she brings a sense of calm to every room she enters.

Lizzie has been surrounded by love her whole life, and it shows. She greets visitors warmly, is wonderful with children, and happily accepts attention from anyone who wants to give her a pat. She adapts beautifully to new environments and even handled a recent apartment move with total ease.

She is excellent with cats and calm, medium-to-large dogs. She has lived with another dog and two cats for years and has always been patient, respectful, and steady. She’s not suited for small dogs, but she gets along beautifully with animals who match her calm energy.

Lizzie enjoys her strolls — she’s wonderful on leash — and she’ll gladly trot around with you at her own pace. She also loves relaxing outdoors, sniffing around, and just being included in your day. Once she’s had her fresh air, she’s perfectly content curling up beside you and being your quiet companion.

Lizzie would thrive in a home that appreciates her gentle spirit and can commit to simple, consistent walks or outdoor time to support her ongoing weight-loss. She doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle — just steady routines and love.

Health & Training
• Spayed and up to date on vaccines
• Healthy and easy-going
• On Simparica Trio
• Crate trained, housebroken, and very well-mannered
• Calm for grooming and vet visits

Lizzie is a rare kind of dog — loving, gentle, grounded, and deeply devoted. She will make any home warmer, calmer, and more complete.

If you’re looking for an amazing dog with a truly wonderful personality, Lizzie is waiting to meet you.
