Liza 's Story

Liza

The sweetest girl
Guaranteed cuddles
The cutest best friend

Qualifications
• Must give lots of belly rubs!
• Must provide all the cuddles and treats!

Hi, my name is Liza. I’m a sweet girl who loves cuddles and adores my person. I would be happiest in a home where I can get lots of attention. I can be a little nervous at first and wouldn’t do well being left alone for long periods.

I like other dogs, but I take a little time to warm up, so slow introductions are best. I like to be near you at all times and come when I'm called, even when we are out hiking around together. I’m just a girl who wants belly rubs, cuddles, kisses, and to roll in the snow while loving my people.

Liza is a 3-year-old Idaho Shag with a soft heart and an even softer coat (now that she’s had a fresh shave and spa day!).

Liza and her brother Rastus are coming into rescue through no fault of their own. Their owner is transitioning into a senior living facility, and while this change is hard on everyone involved, it’s our promise to help these two find the stability and love they deserve.

Liza has lived in a home environment and is used to being part of the family. She is spayed, good with cats, and friendly with adults. We’re still learning about her comfort level with children. She’s not 100% house trained, so her new family should be prepared to offer gentle guidance and consistency as she adjusts.

Liza has never been kenneled before, so crate training will likely need to be introduced slowly and positively. Recently, she and her brother have been spending more time outdoors and, like many smart Shags left to their own devices, they’ve found a little mischief. With structure, exercise, and engagement, Liza is expected to thrive.

Bonded Pair Note:
We would absolutely love to see them adopted together and will try our hardest to make that happen. However, we will consider separate homes if it means each dog receives the best possible long-term fit.

If you’re looking for a loyal, shaggy companion who just needs a fresh start and a committed family, Liza may be your girl.
