Livia's Story

Meet Livia

A 1-year-old blue female, a truly versatile and loving companion! She adores other dogs, whether they're tiny or towering, and has been a gentle and patient friend to young children. She's also quite savvy, knowing when to give older dogs their space. When it comes to food, she's never aggressive, she can be a bit of a bowl-loiterer, so for harmony at mealtime, especially if another dog is in the home, crating her is a good idea. You'll find she's not destructive around the house. This smart girl will sit beautifully and wait for her meals until you give her the go-ahead. Just be sure to use a slow feeder, as she's quite the speedy eater!
Livia has a super goofy personality and genuinely just wants your love and attention. To her, personal hygiene is important, and she loves baths so much that she might even try to join you! Livia is not super high energy; a good walk or some playtime will tire her out, turning her into a happy couch potato. She is crate trained.
Livia does have a high prey drive, so backyard critters are fair game. She is unsuitable for cats. On walks, she does best on a gentle leader as she likes to pull if on a martingale collar. Her door manners are a work in progress but improving immensely; she's a flight risk if a door isn't closed quickly, so continuous training is essential, though she's made huge strides. Livia LOVES to sunbathe on her 'dog throne' and has a mischievous side as a toy thief – definitely not a good fit for homes with other dogs who resource guard toys. Livia can be a bit shy when meeting new people, particularly men, so a slow and patient introduction is key to earning her trust. Once she's comfortable, she'll show her playful side, with a big love for chews and toys.

Please note, we are accepting applications in most of Ohio, southeastern Michigan, southeastern Indiana and western Pennsylvania.

Interested in Livia?
