Little Miss's Story

On June 12, 46 dogs were saved from a "rescue" in Patrick County where they were living in crates and outdoor kennels and not being properly cared for. As you know we have a special place in our hearts for Patrick County Public Animal Shelter and were able to help them by taking six of the dogs into our program!

Meet Little Miss, who is now ready for adoption! Little Miss is a 13 pound, mixed breed diva who is guessed to be about 10-12 months old. Little Miss has a big personality but she's no little lap dog! She is scared of new people and prefers to keep her distance. She is learning so many things in her foster home but will need someone who understands that she did not come from a normal environment and will need basic training and time to adjust. Little Miss is comforted by the presence of other dogs and will need at least one other and a fenced in yard to be happy. She is a lucky little miss and is ready to start the search for her furEVER home!

Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
