Little Bit (Kassius)'s Story

I am currently in a foster home and not at HSNBA, if you are interested in meeting me, please contact the nice folks at HSNBA so they can put you in contact with my foster family to set up a meet & greet. E-mail HSNBA at adoption@hsnba.org, call us at: (830) 629-5287 or stop by and speak with the folks at HSNBA at 3353 Morningside Dr. to get your information sent over to my foster home. My foster family is the best and can give you more information on me.

Meet Little Bit! 🐾🖤🤎

Little Bit is a 6-year-old Terrier mix with a gorgeous black-and-brindle coat and the sweetest little 29-pound frame 💕 She's a total lovebug who adores being close to her people, whether that's soaking up pets or curling up nearby for some quiet companionship 🥰 She walks nicely on leash and brings a gentle, happy energy wherever she goes.

Little Bit has tested heartworm positive, which simply means she has tiny parasites in her heart that require treatment -- and the good news is that it's very treatable! 💛 Because treatment requires a calm, low-stress environment for rest and recovery, she can't go through it here at the shelter. She would ideally complete treatment in a foster home where she can relax and heal peacefully. If you're interested, our front desk team would be happy to talk through the different treatment options available and what that process looks like.

This sweet girl deserves a cozy place to rest, recover, and be loved every step of the way. If you have room in your heart and home for Little Bit, come meet her and help her start her next chapter! 🏡✨

***
I have tested heartworm positive. This means I have a parasite and need treatment. While my friends at HSNBA desperately want to help me, the shelter is too stressful an environment to undertake treatment and treatment itself is very expensive. The shelter has a few options to help with treatment, and if I steal your heart you should talk with them and your vet about what my treatment is like. For more information on heartworms, please visit the American Heartworm Society here https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basicsHSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Some of these animals may not be available for adoption at this moment, but you can always call the shelter at 830-629-5287 for clarification on the adoption process or the animal's current status.
