Lissy's Story
FAST FACTS:
* 4 Years Old & 43lbs
* Dog & Cat Friendly- But Best As Only Pet In Home
* Adults Only Home Preferred
* Working On Potty Training
* Crate Trained

Meet Lissy! Lissy is a 4-year-old English Bulldog with the sweetest soul and a heart that's ready to find the people she's been waiting for.

Rescued from a puppy mill in Texas, Lissy's difficult past has left both physical and emotional scars. But if there's one thing she'll teach you, it's that love can still shine through hardship. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate and forms deep, loyal bonds with her people. Her favorite things include snuggling on the couch, soaking up endless pets, carrying around soft plush toys, and happily snoozing in a cozy dog bed while keeping you company.

Lissy is looking for a calm, quiet home with adults only. She does best with people who respect her boundaries and allow her to settle in at her own pace. An experienced English Bulldog owner, or someone familiar with the breed's unique care needs, would be an ideal match. Lissy requires daily eye medication for life, ongoing management of skin and allergy issues, and accommodations for her mobility limitations.

While Lissy has done well around cats, we've learned she is happiest as the only pet in the home. She loves her people so much that she can become protective of them, so she'll thrive without other dogs or cats competing for her attention.

Lissy is making great progress with potty training! She can comfortably hold it for several hours but hasn't quite figured out how to let you know when she needs to go outside. A fenced yard would be a huge bonus, as she's not much of a walking enthusiast and is still building confidence outdoors. Because stairs are difficult for her, a ranch home or one with minimal stairs would be the best fit.

Like many dogs from puppy mill situations, Lissy is still learning that the world is a safe place. She's working on crate training (though she'd much rather be snuggled next to you), and because she isn't a fan of being crated, she'd love a family where someone is home often to keep her company.

One fun fact about Lissy? Despite having only a limited number of teeth, she has absolutely no problem polishing off her kibble with enthusiasm!

Lissy won't be the right fit for every home, and that's okay. We're looking for the right home. One that understands her past, embraces her quirks, and celebrates every milestone she reaches. In return, you'll gain an incredibly devoted companion whose resilience, gentle nature, and unwavering love make her truly unforgettable.

If you're looking for a loyal couch buddy who will love you with her whole heart, Lissy just might be your perfect match.

If interested in adopting me please fill out an application on our website at www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org; please make sure you fill in every required field/question or your submission will not go through. Please note that we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care and our bios are our current observations; we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history and as such breed and age estimates are an educated guess.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS:

*ADOPTION FEE: $400

*Be at least 21 years of age

*Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household

*Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease)

*Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date)

*Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation

*Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment

*QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR POLICIES?
