Meet Lissy

Lissy / F / 4 Years / 25lbs / Mixed breed / Fostered in Kingston

Lissy is a very resilient and strong girl who has overcome the odds. She was found living on the streets of Mexico with her puppies. She was a great mom and did everything to help her puppies survive and grow. This is a tough job for any street dog, but Lissy is paralyzed, making this so much more difficult for her. But Lissy did it. Her pups are safe and have been rescued. Now it's her turn to find her forever family and live the best life!

Lissy is incredibly sweet, gentle and mellow . She loves breakfast time, playing with other dogs and her very favourite thing is her people. She is trusted free roaming when left alone and has shown no signs of separation anxiety. Her foster mom's favourite thing about her is how chill she is. She is medium energy. She doesn't have much experience walking on a leash so her family will need to work on this with her. She loves spending time in the cart and rolling around outside. She doesn't let anything slow her down.

Lissy had one of hind legs amputated but she scoots around the house and doesn't notice she's any different than the other dogs in the home. She does need help with her bathrooming and has her bladder and bowels expressed throughout the day. Our rescue and her foster mom will be here to help you through this and give you guidance and support. Lissy's foster mom says how easy she is and how perfect she is for a family who doesn't have previous experience with a special needs dog.

Lissy is well mannered and polite when meeting new people. She's good with other dogs. She hasn't met cats but hasn't shown any prey drive, so would likely be good with proper introductions. She would be good with respectful children. She is looking for a family who'll give her lots of snuggles and affection, take her on adventures and show her the good life!
