Lincoln's Story
Lincoln’s current owner has made the tough decision to re-home Lincoln due to increasing reactivity between the three dogs in the household, with Lincoln’s canine companions being described as “temperamental and unpredictable.” Despite the situation with the dogs in his home, Lincoln does get along with other dogs and a home with another dog (an Italian Greyhound would be great) is being requested. Discussing Lincoln’s future home, his owner shared, “He needs to be in a family that understand IG’s and their needy nature, preferably with other IGs. I think he needs other pets in the house; I do not think he should be an only pet.”

Turning eight-years-old in December and weighing approximately nineteen pounds, Lincoln is described as “very cuddly, very loving, and a true lap dog.” In addition to enjoying a cuddly dog, Lincoln’s new person/people should want an active dog as this guy is “FULL of energy” and is accustomed to going on walks and hikes.

Lincoln is house trained to potty outside (on walks), but will have accidents if anxious or left alone without being crated/confined – he does not have accidents when crated or left in a gated area (a double height baby gate is being used as Lincoln will jump lower baby gates). If left alone and not crated, he will tend to have accidents and get into mischief i.e., “He will jump on counters and search for things to play with or eat.” When in his crate, Lincoln loves to burrow beneath a blanket.

Car travel tends to make Lincoln nervous, although he does fine if sitting next to someone; he is good with children (he has lived with children who are currently teens); and, although he barks at things such as squirrels viewed through the window and the doorbell, he responds to “No.”

If you are interested in sharing cuddles and exercise with a loving Italian Greyhound, please contact Italian Greyhound Place.
