Linc's Story

A060925 Linc; intact male Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix; age 10 months; 31 lbs
Contact: Calaveras County Animal Services
(209)754-6509
Website: https://animal.calaverasgov.us/
Email: animal@calaverascounty.gov

Let us introduce you to Linc, a super sweet, silly young boy now available for adoption. Linc is, at 10 months, maturing fast but still very full of maniacal puppy energy. In fact, we had a challenge trying to take pictures of him because this boy is a bundle of energy and rarely holds still! Some of his excess exuberance is surely due to his glee at being out and about and soaking up loving care of staff and volunteers.

That exuberance is understandable because, sadly, Linc was abandoned in a crate without food or water. That's why he looks thin right now. No worries, though, he's doing great and we will have him back up to his appropriate weight in no time. He sure does love his food! But when tested he had no resource-guarding issues at all. He's just really, really hungry.

On walkies, Linc is a bit chaotic but it's not malicious behavior. Far from it; he's simply thrilled about everything and has had apparently no training whatsoever. He pulls on the leash trying to get to all the amazing scents and sights he spots, but at his size he can't pull all that hard. He also jumps up for attention and hugs, so a home with older children only may be best.

Whenever Linc spots another dog, he desperately wants to meet and kiss and play with them. He is a wonderfully social guy who loves all the dogs and people he has met.

No matter how zany Linc gets, we can't help but forgive him for his goofball puppy antics. Those liquid brown eyes melt our hearts every time with a soft sweetness that shines through the puppitude. With time, training, and loving care, Linc has the potential to be a delightful companion for an active home.

Linc will need to be neutered before going home with you.

He keeps his inner kennel tidy; though we can't make guarantees, he may be easy to house train.

We do not have information on his attitude toward cats at this time.

As always, a meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home.
