Limette, COURTESY POSTING's Story

Hello dog lovers!
My name is Limette. I turned 4 years old last April and I weigh 13 lbs.
Right now, I have been stuck for almost 6 months in a northern Quebec small town pound. I have an amazing opportunity to get a ride all the way to the GTA at the end of October provided that a kind dog lover will adopt me. I am a special need dog and here is my story:

The month of my birthday turned out to be a very sad time for me. While wrapping myself in a blanket on the sofa, I fell to the floor and badly injured my back. Although I was wobbling around for a few days after the fall, I ended up loosing the use of my hind legs.
My owners never bothered taking me to the vet following this terrible accident, and instead, they quickly abandoned me at the town pound. Although here they take good care of me as much as they can and even provided me with a wheel chair, it is no life for a special little gal like me. Sure, I make the best of my sad situation and remain in good spirit but my little heart is still hoping and longing so much to have a family again, people who will love me and take good care of me.
I am an affectionate and loyal little dog. I am very playful and enjoy playing fetch and bring back my favourite toy to my human playmate. I love to go for walks in my wheelchair and I am very mobile with or without my wheelchair. I also have an excellent recall. I am a typical dachshund who loves her food and toys :-)
The good news is that I seem to have some feeling when the pound staff touches my behind and my hind legs. Perhaps there is still hope for me, who knows…Unfortunately, the bad news is that I do not have control of my bladder and my bowel. On the plus side, I do not need any human help to relieve myself, I do this all on my own!
The pic of me in the pick up truck was taken upon my arrival at the pound. I was so terrified. But since I am easy going, I adjusted quite quickly to the new surroundings. I am a surviver and I love life and no matter what, I take whatever comes my way to live it at its fullest!

PLEASE NOTE: Limette’s posting is a courtesy posting on behalf of her northern Quebec municipal small town pound
