Lily's Story

Lily was surrendered through no fault of her own and has shown just how resilient she is. After a few days of settling into the busy shelter environment, she has blossomed into a happy girl who eagerly soaks up attention from anyone willing to give it.
She is said to do well with other dogs and children, though she has never been around cats. Lily loves toys-especially balls-and enjoys playtime as much as cuddle time. She is housebroken, crate trained, and rides calmly in the car. She also does well on leash, making her a great companion for walks.
Lily does get a little lonely when left by herself and may howl, so she would do best in a home where she isn't left alone for long periods.
She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated for DHPP and Bordetella, and heartworm negative. She is pending dewormer and preventatives, and her adopter will just need to update her rabies vaccination.
Lily is ready to bring love, fun, and loyalty into her forever home-could it be with you?

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.
