Lilo's Story

Meet Lilo – a smart, active Border Collie mix with a bright spirit and an even brighter future ahead!

Lilo is a medium-sized girl with a playful personality, a brave heart, and the kind of loyal nature Border Collies are famous for. She’s curious about the world around her and happiest when she has something fun to do — whether that’s chasing a tennis ball, showing off her frisbee skills, going for long walks, or zooming around the yard with excitement. This sweet girl is quick to learn, eager to engage, and absolutely loves interactive games and training time with her favorite humans.

Lilo enjoys affection and attention from the people she trusts and forms strong bonds with her family. She rides well in the car, handles grooming nicely, and enjoys relaxing in cozy pet beds, soft blankets, or shady outdoor spots after a busy day of adventures. Hot dogs, chicken pieces, cheese cubes, head pats, and praise are all excellent ways to make her tail wag!

While Lilo can be shy with new people at first, she warms up with patience and kindness. Because of her strong prey drive, she cannot live with other animals and must be in an only pet in the home. She would thrive with an experienced adopter who can continue working with her on leash skills, structure, and mental enrichment. A fenced yard and active lifestyle would make this clever girl very happy.

We believe Lilo has so much potential to be an amazing companion for the right person. If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy with brains, heart, and plenty of personality, apply to adopt Lilo today!

For more information on how to adopt, please call the shelter at 863 324 5227 to see if this pet is still available for adoption. Then come to the shelter for a meet and greet.
We are open 10:30 to 6 Tuesday through Friday and 10:30 to 4 on Saturday closed 1-2 for lunch and the last Friday of every month.
