Lila's Story
Let us introduce you to Lila, formerly Blue from Stanislaus Animal Services. Now she's living her best life as a resident gentle giant and professional couch potato.

This sweet girl is equal parts lover, snuggler, and breeze-catching car ride enthusiast. If you've got a couch and a car with windows that roll down halfway... congratulations, you already have two of Lila's favorite things in life.

With new people, Lila is a polite little introvert. She might play it cool at first, but before long she'll wander over for the classic "hello, may I sniff your hand and accept a gentle pat?" greeting once you pass her vibe check.

She's still very much a baby in a big dog body, so she's learning things like crate training and impulse control. Lila truly wants to be good - sometimes her baby brain just gets a little louder than her manners. If she disagrees with being crated you might hear a dramatic protest that could easily earn her an Oscar nomination. Consistency and structure are helping her improve every day.

This girl is smart and eager to learn. She's been doing great with the cats in her foster home (who are basically dog-savvy professionals at this point). If one sprints, her "must chase fast thing" instinct may kick in, but a quick correction brings her right back to reality. Because of this, any home with small animals should plan for slow and thoughtful introductions.

Lila is a mastiff mix, which means she's a big girl with an even bigger heart who will thrive with a confident human to guide her. She can be a little unsure of herself at times, but with leadership and reassurance she settles in beautifully.

Fostered in San Jose, CA
