Lila's Story

ATTENTION: All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs. If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application. We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt.

// // Meet Lila! Lila is a 4-year-old, 23-pound Chihuahua mix with a heart as big as her adorable ears. She was rescued from a high-kill shelter just days before giving birth to her puppies, and after being an incredible mama, it’s finally her turn to be loved and spoiled in a forever home of her own.

Lila is deeply loyal and affectionate with her people and thrives on companionship. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, her sweet and loving personality shines through. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion, though she’d also be happy soaking up all the attention herself.

She’s an active, smart, and agile girl who loves spending time outdoors, so she’ll need a secure yard where she can safely explore and play. Lila is fully house trained, uses a doggie door like a pro, and has excellent house manners overall. She’s still building confidence on leash walks and will benefit from a patient adopter willing to continue working with her.

At 23 pounds, Lila is the perfect medium-sized companion: small enough to cuddle, sturdy enough for adventures, and full of love to give. She’s been through so much already and is more than ready for the safe, loving home she deserves. She is microchipped, spayed, and up to date on all vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.

All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.

Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,

vaccinations, medical treatments,

food and supplies.
