Lightning's Story

Location: Big Lake, MN

Lightning is such a sweet boy. He came to his foster parents a scared and timid dog but is now so comfortable in the home. We weren't sure how he would adjust but he has turned in to the goofiest, cutest little guy.

He loves pets, toys, and other dogs. His favorite thing is playing with his fosters resident dogs. He would do best in a home with other friendly dogs. They help him feel confident in unknown situations and have really brought out his goofy side. He's patient with the fosters cat. He would do just fine in a home with cats.

I would describe him as medium energy. When he's playing with other dogs he is very energetic but overall he's a pretty chill guy. He loves going for walks, he does good on a leash. Doesn't really mind other people or dogs when on a walk. He does okay being left out while the fosters are gone. He has had a few incidents of getting into things but is mostly fine especially with exercise before being left alone. Could likely be kennel trained with patience. He is mostly potty trained but we are still working on getting him fully potty trained. He has gotten a lot better since getting neutered recently. He is a mostly quiet pup, will whine for a couple minutes when the fosters first leave but settles down quickly.

This guy is amazing, anyone would be lucky to have him. He had a rough life before coming into the rescue but he's learned that being domesticated isn't so bad. He's having the time of his life in his fosters home. He may take a few days to warm up to you but once he does be prepared for the goofiest boy.

---------------

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).

Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
