Licorice's Story

Meet Licorice!

Licorice is the perfect mix of playful adventure buddy and cuddly couch companion. She absolutely loves spending time outdoors—whether she's going for a walk, chasing a tennis ball, or simply rolling around in the grass soaking up the sunshine. Her favorite toy? A squeaky tennis ball, of course!

While she enjoys a good game of fetch, Licorice also knows when it's time to relax. She's not an endless ball of energy and is just as happy chewing on a bully stick or enjoying a frozen peanut butter Kong before settling in for a nap.

This smart girl is potty trained, knows "sit," and takes treats gently. She previously let her foster know she needed to go outside by sitting at the back door, and now happily uses a doggy door to come and go. She's also trustworthy around the house and does well relaxing on her own.

At the end of the day, Licorice's favorite place is right next to her person. She's a true cuddle bug who loves sleeping beside you in bed and soaking up all the affection she can get.

Licorice has done wonderfully with older children (ages 7–12) and loves playing with them. Because she's still young and can get the zoomies, she may be a bit too enthusiastic for toddlers. She also walks nicely on a leash and knows "leave it," although squirrels and birds can sometimes be a little too tempting!

She even has a mischievous side—don't be surprised if she channels her inner cat and decides your houseplants belong on the floor instead of the table!

Licorice does have skin allergies and receives medication, including an occasional injection, to help keep her comfortable and itch-free. With that simple management, she's ready to enjoy all the adventures and snuggles her forever family has to offer.

If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate dog who loves the outdoors just as much as cuddling under the covers, Licorice is ready to be your best friend!
