Libby's Story

Libby was turned into the city shelter as a stray and was very thin and frail. She was bewildered in the shelter and needed to be in a home ASAP. FLFO stepped in and brought her here where she is thriving. She's gained weight and is very happy. But sadly, her initial exam with our veterinarian and bloodwork showed high liver values. Our vet did an ultrasound to find out what was happening and much to her and our astonishment, Libby has a 10cm tumor on her heart. She is not showing any symptoms of being sick but we know that her time is limited. She could live for one more day or one more year!

We are currently looking for someone to foster Libby. FLFO offers a fospice program for which we now have a grant to cover her expenses. FLFO pays for all veterinary care and heartworm preventative.

Libby is fully crate trained, sleeps through the night, and is very sweet. She walks well on a leash and loves to explore the yard. She is a little sight and hearing impaired but that does not stop her from getting around. Libby takes quite a while to adjust to new surroundings, pacing around and being generally unsettled. But once she's comfortable, she will sleep for several hours.

Can you open your heart and home to a loving, deserving girl?
