He's also sucessdully been exposed to cats. We haven't seen him with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!<br/><br/>Currently Living at: DC area fosterSpecial adoption considerations: Liam is shy and must go to a home with a welcoming resident dog who will show him the ropes!<br/><br/>Liam is Looking For: A real home. Liam and some other scruffy cuties that look just like him landed in the shelter. They all are sweet - but scared. Liam hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet so he's both uncertain about new places and is shy - AND he is eager to make up for lost time!<br/><br/>He'd like his own humans for sniffy walks and romps and world exploration. And snuggles, definitely snuggles. Making new pup pals along the way would be great too. And he'd like to go to dog school too - it's never too late to become a scholar!<br/><br/>Most of all, he'd like to know where he belongs, to be safe and loved for all his days. In exchange he promises so much love, so much loyalty. What do you say? Can you see him by your side?<br/><br/>What My Foster Says About Me: If you’re looking for an absolute cuddle bug Liam is for you! Liam is happiest when in a ball on your lap with a warm blanket and a good Netflix show on. Liam likes to go for walks but is still very nervous with loud noises and is learning to walk on a leash. Liam loves to sleep in! He’s a good eater and not food aggressive at all. He is happy to be attached at your hip or snoozing on the couch!<br/><br/>Heartworm information: Liam is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now!
