LEXI - LOCAL!'s Story
Hi friends! My name is Lexi and here's my details:

PHYSICAL INFO:

Breed: Mixed Lab
Age: 1 year approx.
Gender: Female
Weight: 40 lbs (18 kg)
Current Location: Vancouver, BC

RESCUE STORY - I was adopted at 3 months old from Cortez Rescue in Baja and moved to Canada. Unfortunately, my adopters couldn't give me the leadership and guidance I need and decided to give me up instead. I can't even believe it! I'm a good, sweet girl that needs to learn a few more things, but I'm still such a young gal and would love to learn from my new leader, my new family. I've been working with a trainer at TT Animal Rehabilitation and Therapy in Parksville, BC and she would tell you I'm a lovely girl, and with the right support, will thrive in a new home. With good leadership and continued positive reinforcement I will continue to be an amazing companion and forever loyal family member.

If you'd like to meet me (I'm a local gal!), please give us a heads up and something can be arranged!

TEMPERAMENT - It takes me a bit to warm up to new people. However, once I am around you and become familiar, I'm superrr cuddly and an affectionate companion! I definitely need proper introductions to new people (which can be demonstrated here and here) as well as time to get to know you. But I promise it's worth it as I really am the most loving girl!

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium

GETS ALONG WITH:

Kids – My trainer does not recommend me for a household with small children - teenagers are okay.
Dogs – Yes! I absolutely love other dogs and would do great as a 1st, 2nd or even 3rd dog. See me here playing!
Cats – Unknown

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

Leash skills – I'm a work in progress but I've been leash walking good with my trainer and you can see in videos here and here.
House trained – Sure am!
Crate trained – Yup my first family crate trained me.
Car rides – Unknown and I may need some additional training and patience.

HEALTH NOTES:

I have been spayed and am current on all my vaccinations including monthly flea/tick medication. I am also microchipped!
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD ($750.00 + PST and GST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

-------------------------------------

DISCLAIMER:

Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed.
