Lexi's Story

I'm. Too Lexi for my crate. Too Lexi for my crate. <br/><br/>But you know what Lexi is not too Lexi for? You. This 4-year-old, 60-pound Lab/Catahoula mix would prefer you stay within approximately six inches of her at all times. Lexi is a professional shadow who thinks everything is a two-creature activity. She'll follow you everywhere, and if you disappear without a status update , she will 100% call out for you. <br/>She adores people of all ages and has been great with a 5-year-old. And about that crate... Lexi very much dislikes it and gets extremely distressed when crated. Luckily, she doesn't need one. She's fully house trained and trusted to roam freely. At night, she'd love to sleep with her people, but she'll settle for a dog bed beside them. She's also super smart and knows "sit," "no" and "off."<br/><br/>For such a devoted shadow, Lexi is a mellow girl. Most of her day is spent lounging, sleeping and soaking up love. She likes bully sticks and squeaky toys when you play with her, but having you around is entertainment enough. Lexi does well with other dogs and coexists nicely with the older dog in her foster home. She prefers to initiate play and isn't a fan of dogs getting in her face. When she does play, she plays rough. We don't know about cats yet.<br/><br/>Apartment life probably isn't for Lexi, as she's quite the conversationalist , and she'd be happiest in a home where she won't spend long stretches alone. Her foster says it's clear Lexi was loved before. She knows good food comes from the kitchen, beds and couches are for sleeping, and how good it feels to have someone to call her person. <br/><br/>More than anything, Lexi just wants to be someone's loyal companion again. Someone to follow, talk to and look at with those big beautiful brown eyes. <br/>Lexi is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Her adoption fee is $175. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters.<br/><br/> Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org

Pawsitive Tails is dedicated to matching the needs and personality of our dogs with your family. We are not in a hurry to adopt out our dogs; we want to make sure the match is perfect for everyone.  All of the dogs in our rescue live in foster  homes with both the human and furry members of our families.  Our adoption process begins with an application which can be found under the "adopt" tab on our website, www.pawsitivetailskc.org.  Please complete the form in full; the questions we ask help us to fully understand what type of dog you are looking for, and to make sure you get the very best fit.  Incomplete applications will not be processed.  If you do not include a vet phone number, a landlord phone number (if applicable), or 3 complete references, we cannot process your application.  We will contact your Veterinarian, so please make sure to call them to release your vet history to our volunteer.  &nbs
