Lexi's Story

Lexi is a beautiful middle aged girl in search of her forever home. She is a big girl, tall and lanky. Lexi is a senior dog, but you would never know it. She is quite nimble and has a beautiful flying trot! Lexi is a sweet girl who is dedicated to her people. She is at that perfect age where she still has energy and yet is not bouncing off the walls. Lexi is very smart girl and is very food motivated. She is housebroken and crate trained and does not exhibit any destructive behaviors when left loose.

Lexi would love a home where she can be the center of attention. I think she would be best as an only dog. She does well with male dogs but seems a little anxious/dominant around hyper female dogs. I believe she's an alpha female. Lexi LOVES the tennis ball. If you have a fenced yard and would throw the ball for her 10 to 15 minutes a day she would be the happiest dog on the planet. She also knows how to bring the ball back and drop it at your feet so you can throw it again. She has the cutest head toss and bark which she uses to encourage you to throw the ball for her. She also enjoys going for walks and rides in the car. She does very well in public, and would enjoy going to bistros or events that are dog friendly. In the evenings she's perfectly content to sit on the couch with you and watch TV or chill out on a dog bed. Lexi is a great girl, and is ok with children, but would prefer kids over the age of 15 as she might knock over younger children by accident. She just wants to be near her people. Lexi is an all-around great girl who is going to make some lucky person or family a great companion.

Fun fact: Lexi had her picture entered in a calendar contest and won a feature for one of the pages (her winning smile!!)

She loves her crate---her mini apartment in her mind. She has a few pillows and blankets in there, she is a creature of comfort.

Please take a moment and watch the videos in the link below to see her sweet personality!

Lexi will also need someone experienced with the breed

When I get videos you will find them HERE!
Please visit our website www.gsdrescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
